The Trianon Hall in Nafplio, on Sunday July 14th 2024 in the evening, will host a classical guitar recital with guitarist Panagiotis Tzortzis. In a special evening, the musician will take the audience on a journey to the depths of the classical guitar.
The concert programme consists of works from the classical guitar repertoire, from the Renaissance to the end of the 20th century. We will enjoy works by Brouwer, Dowland, Gorzanis, Ponce, Regondi, Walton.
It is essentially a dialogue between different musical epochs, with mostly original works for guitar, with the exception of transcriptions of early music.
The event takes place under the auspices of the Municipality of Nafplio.

The beautiful building, that is located in Syntagma Square, nowadays it is known as "Trianon" and was during the Ottoman years a religious place. The old mosque is perhaps the oldest example of Ottoman architecture, in the town of Nafplio. In 1915 it was converted into a conservatory and theater, and then into a municipal cinema under the name "Trianon". Today many theatrical performances, art exhibitions and schools events are organized at Trianon.
