For the first time this year, Nafplio joins the Run Greece series of races, which is entering a new era with new cities in the program, a new style, more dynamism and new aesthetics. The event kicked off on Thursday, April 4th 2024 with a comprehensive briefing, at the emblematic Vouleftiko, the first Parliament of the Greeks, with the aim of making Nafplio a reference point...
The Run Greece race series is one of the most important running events in the country for 12 years, a meeting point for runners of all ages. With the addition of new cities this year, such as Nafplio, it gives extra motivation to runners to try new routes and visit new destinations.
Race types
Run Greece includes 5km, 10km and Children's Road Races
The 5km and 10km routes are certified, based on international rules and specifications.

Start - Finish
The 5km and 10km road races and the children's race start and finish on the Miaouli coastal pedestrian road, at the level of Philhellenon square, in the port of Nafplio.
Schedule of Race
09:00 - 09:30: Arrival of runners for the 10 km.
10:00 - Start of the 10km race.
The maximum finishing time for the 10km road race is 11:15. This means that runners have a total of 1 hour and 15 minutes available.
10:30 - 11:00: Arrival of runners for the 5 km.
11:30 - 5km race.
The maximum finish time for the 5km Road Race ends at 12:45, taking into account the delay in start time between the different start blocks. In the 5km Race the practice of "wave start" is applied. Runners are placed in starting blocks based on their performance as declared in their entry form, which is checked and cross-checked by the race committee.
11:35 - Children's race of 1 km.

Remarks
Participating runners will move to the starting point of the race by their own means.
All participating runners have a total available time of 1 hour and 15 minutes.
After the official finish time of 12:45, runners who have not finished must leave the race. Otherwise they continue at their own risk, as the route will be opened to car traffic.
Running route
The routes for the 5km and 10km races (part of the race is the children's race of 1km) are as follows:
Start at Akti Miaouli, at the level of Philhellenon square, at the port of Nafplio, in the direction towards Nea Kios. After the roundabout, runners take the Nafplio - Nea Kios road for the next 2 km. At the level of Poseidonos Avenue, in front of the Traffic Education Park, they turn around and return along the same road to the Miaouli coast, where they finish. The 10km runners make two laps to the finish, while the 5km runners make one lap.
The 5km race is fully certified.
Ages of participation
Participation in the 5km and 10km races is allowed to runners born in 2012 and older.
The Children's Race is open to 4th, 5th and 6th grade students (children born in 2012, 2013 and 2014).
Runners are allowed to participate in two events (10km and 5km), except for children born in 2012 - 2013 - 2014, who are allowed to participate in only one event.
Registration Center
Open on Saturday April 20th 2024: 10.00 - 20.00.
All participants will receive their participation number and the necessary material for the race from the Registration Center of the event, which is hosted at the Indoor Gym of the Municipal Stadium of Nafplio (16, Thisseos str. Nafplio, GR 211-00) - entrance from Irakleous & Navarino streets.

Tips
Before you start from your accommodation, make sure you have your race number with the built-in timing chip and safety pins, as well as the recyclable material bag you have received from the organisers for the clothes, with the sticker with your race number stuck on it.
On the bag made of recyclable material, the sticker with the runner's entry number must be clearly affixed (at the point indicated). This bag must be securely closed and must not contain any travel documents, money, valuables or medicines. The organisers will not be liable in the event of loss of items of value.
The delivery of the participants' clothes will take place in two different places based on the number of participants.
Runners may warm up individually (running, flexibility exercises, etc.) in the areas behind the Start.
Bottled water will be provided to 10km Road Race runners at the Start and Finish, and at approximately 2.5km, 5km and 7.5km.
In the 5km Road Race, apart from the start and finish, bottled water is also offered at the support station at 2.5km (at the height of the Town Hall).
There will be chemical toilets near the Start/Finish.
In the 10km & 5km Road Races, there will be electronic control and timing zones at the start and finish, as well as at intermediate points to record intermediate times. Any runner who does not have an electronic readout at the start, finish and all intermediate control zones during the race will be disqualified.
Runners not validly registered or runners without an entry number will not be allowed to participate in the race.
Registration deadline
Registration closes when the entry limits per race are filled or no later than Tuesday 16 April 2024, to the extent that the entry limits have not been filled earlier. Participants who have successfully completed the registration process by Tuesday, April 9th 2024 will be issued a personalised entry number (with the participant's name printed on the entry number).
New registrations after April 16th 2024 will not be accepted.

With physical presence, from Monday 1 April to Tuesday 16 April 2024, registrations and cash payment will take place at the "Kostas Gouveris" Municipal Olympic Swimming Pool of Nafplio (1, Nafplio - Nea Kios Avenue, Nafplio): Monday to Friday, 10:00-14:00.
Registration costs
10,00€ - Participation fee for all runners of the 5km and 10km Road Races.
5,00€ - Subscription for group registration (at least 10 members) of a School or a SEGAS Sports Association, for participation in the 5km and 10km races, for students aged 12 years (born 1/1 - 31/12/2012) to 18 years (born 1/1 - 31/12/2006).
Free participation in the children's race.
Participation benefits
Registered participants (paid registration) will be given free T-shirts, a bag made of recyclable material, a registration number (Bib), electronic timing (official time and ranking), a commemorative participation medal.
