The Children's Theater of Giannis Christopoulos presents in Nafplio the play "Pinocchio", which travels on a long tour throughout Greece, directed by Anastassi Deligiannis. We will watch the performance at the Theater of the OSE, on Monday, July 11th 2022.
The fantastic wooden character, who first appeared in 1883 as the central hero in the Italian fairy tale "Le Avventure di Pinocchio" by Carlo Collodi, now comes in a new adaptation of the story, to convey messages about the value of life, of friendship and humanity. A show involving laughter, humor but also an educational character.
The carpenter Geppetto lovingly created a marionette, which kept him company, as if it were his little boy. He named him Pinocchio.
The Blue Fairy, seeing Geppetto's love for the little boy, decided to give Pinocchio a chance to become a real child. But, she let him choose between good and evil, right and wrong, and decide what kind of person he would become as he grew up.
The Cricket is Pinocchio's friend, who accompanies him in all his adventures, and the Blue Fairy gives him the value of conscience, so that there will always be a voice that will remind him of what he should and should not do.
Little Pinocchio, however, gets involved in adventures, in a whirlwind of situations, after he meets Honest John and Stromboli, the troupe leader of a circus. These two get him into big trouble. After he manages to escape, he meets Carlo and the sly coachman, who drag him to the island of carelessness, where new adventures and surprises await him.
Through the performance, we see that the lies and the lack of responsibility, do not turn out well for Pinocchio. However, both himself and his conscience ultimately help him to understand the right path that a child should take.
Will Pinocchio finally become a real boy, so that he can prove to the Blue Fairy and Cebeto that he is worthy of the blessing of life? The answer on stage!...
