The National Gallery - Alexandros Soutsos Museum opens its doors to the public during Christmas, in Athens and the rest of Greece, inviting everyone to festive tours and events in the spirit of the season. At the Nafplion Annex on Friday, December 22nd and Thursday, December 28th 2023, everyone will have the opportunity to participate in the celebratory atmosphere through thematic tours, innovative educational programs and other festive activities.

Friday, December 22nd 2023
17:00-20:00 - Three-hour printmaking workshop for adults, free of charge, by the artist Giannis Charikleous.
This is a printmaking workshop on Christmas-themed creations for adults who wish to familiarize themselves with the art of printmaking and explore all its stages, from engraving and inking to the final printing.
As part of the workshop, there will be a guided tour of the museum's permanent exhibition, showcasing prints by Giannis Psychopedis and Zacharias Arvanitis.
Thursday, December 28th 2023
19:00 - The playwright Dimitra Dede will narrate myths accompanied by the violin, as part of the periodic exhibition Myths and Symbols in Modern Greek Art, June 10th 2023 – May 30th 2024.
Violinist Thanassis Moulas will accompany and musically comment on the texts."

The works of the permanent collection of the Annex come from the collections of the National Gallery and the E. Koutlidis Foundation, as well as from the collections of the National Historical Museum (NHM), the Vasilis and Eliza Goulandris Foundation (VEGF), the Collection of the Antonios E. Komninos Foundation, and the Collection of Sotiris Felios, including works by Yiannis Psychopedis.
