Fougaro - Blues Night with Blues Cargo Live, Saturday, December 16th 2023

Φουγάρο Ναύπλιο, Fougaro Art Center

On Saturday night, December 16th 2023, Blues Cargo band is coming for a unique live performance at the Fougaro Art Center.

Blues Cargo was formed in Athens in 1987 and systematically began working on electric blues, with their own original songs and well-known adaptations, soon being recognized as one of the most important bands in the blues scene. With valuable experiences during their 35-year journey and a complete understanding of the form and ethos of the blues, they have accompanied and toured with legendary musicians and historic bands. Impenitently faithful to the blues sound, they have been distinguished as the "Legendary Blues Band of Greece" by the "Blues Hall of Fame" in the United States.
More mature than ever, for their performance at the Fougaro Art Center, Blues Cargo leave the drums behind in Athens and play acoustically, in a lineup with vocals, guitar, piano and bass.

Stelios Zafeiriou - guitar
George Lagogiannis - piano, vocals
Dimitris Ioannou - bass, vocals

Did you know that?
It wouldn't be an exaggeration to assert, that Blues Cargo has nothing to envy from the best blues bands operating in Chicago itself. A band with 35 years of existence, which in its long journey has accompanied musicians like Guitar Shorty, U.P Wilson, Louisiana Red, Lurrie Bell, Big Time Sarah, Eddie C. Campbell, Lefty Dizz, Angela Brown, Lovie Lee, Byther Smith, Jean Caroll, Maxine Howard, Blind Mississippi Morris, Sweet Betty, Jimmy Morello, Nellie Tiger Travis, Jolly Jumper and Big Moe, Michael Dotson, Janice Harrington, Matthew Skoller
The latest CD from Blues Cargo, "On Time," the third in their discography (following "Delayed Delivery" in 2009), received excellent reviews from the American "Blues Blast" magazine.
