Iria - Photo exhibition at Petromylos, July 9th to September 9th 2022

On the ending of the Kapodistrian Municipality of Nafplio, in Iria village of Argolids, from Saturday, July 9th to Friday, September 9th 2022, there will be an exhibition of photography by Giota Dokou entitled "Woman" (Gynaika).

"There is a woman at the beginning of all great things" (Lamartine, 1790-1869, French poet and philhellene). With this saying, Giota Dokou opens her photography exhibition, hosted in Iria village of Argolis, in the newly restored "Milos", that became a lovely museum.

The photographer
Giota Dokou was born in Athens in 1976. She started working in photography in the year 2000, working in a photo studio in Nafplio. During that time, she attends the seminar "Introduction to artistic photography", with Mr. Platon Rivellis as teacher.
In 2004, she attends courses at IEK Akmi, as a photo shooting technician.
In 2007 she presented her photographs at the Benaki museum.
In 2017, she presents her work at the cafe-bar "Menta" in Nafplion and the proceeds from the photos are offered to the "Ark of the World" for children.
She worked as a teacher at the public IEK Nafplion, in the specialty "Art of photography", in the first semester of 2017 and 2018.
In April 2018, she participated in a group exhibition at the MegArt gallery.
She volunteered as a photography trainer to the members of the KETHEA Cell-Oxygen counseling center in Nafplio, from February to May 2019.
She lives in Nafplion and is engaged in her great passion, photography.
