The Nafplio Castle Run (in greek "Palamidios Athlos") is a distinctive sporting event, as it includes the unique race in Greece with a racing Castle ascension! The Nafplio Castle Run is part of the city's celebrations for the conquest of Palamidi fortress by the heroes of the Greek Revolution and the liberation of the city from the Turkish yoke.
The events this year, are part of the 200th anniversary of the fall of Palamidi castle and the liberation of Nafplio.
The runners, who will register for one of the racing routes of the event, will enjoy a race that combines the highest sports standards together with a big celebration in the beautiful city of Nafplio!
The racing events will take place on Sunday, November 27th 2022, in parallel with the celebrations for the 200th anniversary of the fall of Palamidi castle and the liberation of Nafplio.
Torch Relay
During the Athens Authentic Marathon's opening ceremony, a delegation of the Organizing Committee of Nafplio Castle Run & Nafplio Marathon will receive the Marathon Flame. The Marathon Flame will travel to Nafplio, where with an exquisite Torch Relay on Saturday, November 26th (the Race's eve), will climb step by step on Palamidi Castle, in order to light the altar and thus to mark the opening of Nafplio Castle Run Event! The participation of the Military School of Guards will brighten the Torch Relay and all events.
The Torchbearers will gather in front of the Archaeological Museum in Syntagma Square and from there, along Amalias Street, with waypoints and symbols being the War Museum, the statue of I. Kapodistrias and the statue of Staikos Staikopoulos, where also a small ceremony with the Municipal Philharmonic will take place, the torch relay will begin with the ascent to the castle from the entrance of March 25th street. When the last torchbearer reaches the peak of the Castle, the altar lights on, the Castle lights turn off and the latten candles are left to the sky from the coastal front of the city in front of Filellinon Square. A unique and magical spectacle!
The start and finish of all races will take place in the designated area at the entrance of the Castle on "March 25th" street.

Registrations
On-line Registrations for individuals, will be accepted until Friday, November 18th 2022, as for groups until Wednesday, November 16th 2022.
There are the following ways of registration:
- Online registration
- In person, upon availability, at the Registration Centre. It will operate on the 25th and 26th of November, from 11:00 to19:00 in Fougaro Art Center (Asklipiou 98 str).

In detail: 50% discount on the cost of a return trip on KTEL Argolis routes to Nafplion on Friday, Saturday and Sunday 25-26-27/11/22 and from Nafplio to Athens on Sunday and Monday 27-28/11/22.
Those interested, in order to qualify for the discount, should state the code of their completed registration or present to the publishing houses the confirmation they received electronically for their participation in the "Palamedian Games", along with their ID.

The organization is certified by the State, SEGAS Athletics Federation and AIMS institution and follows every official Health Protocol.
The race takes place with the support of the Ministry of Sports and Culture, the Ministry of Education, the Chamber of Argolis and the Center for Hellenic Studies (Greece) of Harvard University, as also Nafplio Castle Run is dedicated to the social work of the Association of Disabled People of Argolis.
