Vouleftiko - Anniversary event for the liberation of Nafplio, November 23rd 2019
On the occasion of celebrating the historic anniversary of the fall of Palamidi castle and the liberation of Nafplio from the Turks, "The Palamedes" Progressive Association of Nafplio holds a commemoration event on Saturday, November 23rd 2019 in Vouleftiko (1st Parliament building) in Nafplio.
Professor Thanos Veremis will deliver the speech for the celebration.
The Mixed Polyphonic Chorus of Nafplio Municipality, under the direction of conductor Mr. Theodosis Antoniadis is musically supporting the celebration. Mrs. Eleni Belesis is playing piano.
Greetings will be addressed by President of "The Palamedes" Progressive Association of Nafplio, the Mayor of Nafplio, the Peloponnese Regional director, a representative of the birthplace of the Conqueror and the President of "Nafplios", the Association of the Nafplio natives everywhere.

Did you know that?
The fall of Palamidi during the Revolution of 1821 was the successful outcome of the long siege of the Palamidi fortress by the Greeks and the capitulation of the Turks of Nafplio. It took place on the rainy night of the 29th to 30th of November 1822 by one of the siege squadrons, led by the hero of the liberation of Nafplio Staikos Staikopoulos.
