On the occasion of celebrating the historic anniversary of the fall of Palamidi castle and the liberation of Nafplio from the Turkish yoke, "The Palamedes" Progressive Association of Nafplio holds a commemoration event on Saturday, November 26th 2022 in Vouleftiko (1st Parliament's building) in Nafplio.
Mr. Aristides Chatzis, Professor of History & Philosophy of Science at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens will deliver the speech for the celebration.
The Mixed Polyphonic Chorus of Nafplio Municipality, under the direction of conductor Mr. Theodossis Antoniadis is musically supporting the celebration. Mrs. Eleni Belesis is playing piano.

Did you know that?
The fall of Palamidi castle during the Revolution of 1821 was the successful outcome of the long siege of Palamidi by the Greeks and the capitulation of the Turks of Nafplio. It took place on the rainy night of the 29th to 30th of November 1822 by one of the siege squadrons, led by the hero of the liberation of Nafplio Staikos Staikopoulos.
