Βάκχες Ευριπίδη Επίδαυρος 2021, Bacchae of Euripides at Epidaurus 2021

Akis Sakellariou as Dionysus, Odysseas Papaspiliopoulos as Pentheus and Ioanna Pappas as Teiresias, the leaders of a large cast of exceptional actors, in a performance dominated by passion, conflict, ritual led by the original music of Θραξ Πανκc.
The Art Company "Ars Aeterna" and the DI.PE.THE of Ioannina present in Epidaurus the tragedy of Euripides "Bacchae", directed by Nikaiti Kontouris.

"Euripides’ The Bacchae can be summed up as a ritual of feelings, emotions, rage and unreason", according to director Nikaiti Kontouri. A tragedy that invariably lends itself to fresh approaches and readings, The Bacchae is the only extant ancient play featuring god Dionysus as a character, mercilessly punishing all those resisting the might of nature and the transformative experience of divine intoxication. Akis Sakellariou and Odysseas Papaspiliopoulos portray Dionysus and King Pentheus respectively, leading an excellent cast.
