An exceptional photo exhibition is presented in the ground floor hall of the Old Parliament in Nafplio (the "Vouleftiko"), entitled "Evzones - The guardians of the obscure", from November 24th to 30th 2021. The public will have the opportunity to get to know the world of the Presidential Guard (soldiers, life, ideals, training), through the lens of the photographer Dimitra Hatziadam, accredited photographer of the Presidential Mansion since 2010.
The exhibition is enriched with unique audio documents. The audiovisual experience is completed by the authentic Evzonian materials, the particular shoes "tsarouchia" and the garment "fustanela", offering the viewers the opportunity to touch them and perceive the greatness of this outstanding historical elite light infantry of the Greek Army.
Also, there will be on display rare, experiential testimonies of the Evzoni, collected by the photographer, conveying in the best way the emotions of the people behind the uniform. Through the unique photos and exhibits, the hard daily life, the immense feeling of honor and the undivided devotion to the duty are projected, with respect and responsibility.
The photographer herself will be the guide to this visual experience, to share stories from her photographic attempt and to explain what cannot fit in the written descriptions of the Evzoni life.
The photographer
Mrs. Dimitra Hatziadam was born and raised in the city of Kavala (Greece), where she was taught the art of photography by Stratos Kalafatis. Then after, she completed her photographic studies in Thessaloniki and specialized in the applied arts. In recent years, she has been active in Athens and collaborates with numerous embassies and with the Presidency of the Republic, as an accredited photographer since the year 2010. In addition, her great photographic production with the Holy Diocese of Ilion, highlighted the splendor and the priceless value of the sacred relics and the temples of the Holy Metropolis.

For entering, a certificate of vaccination or illness is needed or a 48-hour rapid test. For children 5-11 years old, the 24 hour self test is necessary. The face-mask is obligatory.

The exhibition has been successfully presented in 17 cities inside and outside Greece, attracting hundreds of visitors and students. Laying the story behind each photo, the photographer was there to answer questions and comments, in order for the Presidential Guard to be accessible to the public.
The Presidential Guard counts to date 152 years of honorable course.
