Easter - Events calendar, 12 to 19 April 2014

The Holy Easter season are dominating to the religious element. In our municipality, residents and visitors will feel the solemnity of the days and will live the traditional Greek Holy Week.
 

April 12, 2014: Saturday of Lazarus

12.00-14.00 "With a kaleidoscope "
Invite children on St. Nicholas Square to make Lazarus and the kalantisoume in the old town .
18.00 Music events  by the Philharmonic in Syntagmatos Square.
19.00 The Fairy scene D.O.P.P.A.T presents work by Thalia Antoniades ' Witch for a Day " at Trianon theatre .
20.00 Concert of Choirs of D.O.P.P.A.T , the non-profit organization " Byzantine and traditional Echoes ", the choir of the Municipal Public Benefit Corporation Epidaurus and CGC - Reg in Vouleytiko.


April 13, 2014 : Palm Sunday

11.30 The Fairy scene D.O.P.P.A.T presents the work by Thalia Antoniades ' Witch for a Day " at Trianon theatre.
17.30 - 19.00 Free tour of the city by a qualified guide. Starting point in Kapodistrias Square .
19.30 Divine Liturgy - "After Palm and sectors" our Church celebrates the reception of Christ in Jerusalem . From Palm Sunday until Holy Wednesday we have the sequence of the bridegroom .
21.00 Concert at Vouleytiko with the participation of Athenian Mandolinatas "Nikolaos Lavdas " and Soprano Ioanna Forti , entitled " Hadjidakis loved Vivaldi».


April 14, 2014: Holy Monday

17.30 - 19.00 Free tour of the city by a qualified guide. Starting point in Kapodistrias Square.
19.30 Nymphios - On Holy Monday, in the face of Joseph Pangalou the drama of the Lord prefigures, and the Passion Week starts.
21.00 In Vouleytiko, music from GiArt Duo ∞ Duo Arioso, four European artists who take us musically in Spain, the Czech Republic and Greece.


April 15, 2014: Holy Tuesday

17.30 - 19.00 Free tour of the city by a qualified guide. Starting point in Kapodistrias Square.
19.30 Divine Liturgy. The Holy Tuesday is dedicated to the sinful woman.
21.30 In St. Spyridon Church, Holy Week hymns from the band "Byzantine and Traditional Echoes" under the direction of choir master Constantinos Routoulas.


16 April 2014 : Holy Wednesday

17.00 Holy Unction .
17.30 - 19.00 Free tour of the city by a qualified guide. Starting point in Kapodistrias Square .
19.30 Divine Liturgy - The Holy Wednesday relive four events of the last moments of the Lord : the sacred Basin , the Last Supper, the Lord's Prayer on the Mount of Olives and the betrayal of Judas.
21.00 Hymns from around the world by D.O.P.P.A.T Youth Choir , under the direction of Maestro Theodosi Antoniadis in Vouleytiko.
 

April 17, 2014 : Holy Thursday

10.00 In Kapodistrias Square children paint red eggs and handing out greetings to citizens and visitors of the city under the guidance of Tina Gkiola .
11.00 - 13.00 Children under the guidance of creative workshops Sophia Luke, decorate red dyed eggs in St George Square .
17.30 - 19.00 Free tour of the city by a qualified guide. Starting point in Kapodistrias Square .
19.00 Divine Liturgy - Holy Thursday is celebrated as " the Passion " and experience the passion and crucifixion of the Lord .
23.00 Gasket of epitaph . The female vocal ensemble " AGREEMENT " will perform under the baton of maestro Theodosi Antoniades hymns of Holy Week in the city churches.
 

18 April 2014: Holy Friday

07.00 Divine Liturgy.
11.00 The Great Vespers sung and performed the Apokathilosi.
19.30 Opening of the Divine Liturgy with the praise in churches of polyphonic choirs and cantors .
21.30 Opening of the behavior of Epitaphs: Meeting of Epitaphs of the Metropolitan Church of Saint George , the Church of Our Lady and the Church of St. Nicholas in Syntagma Square accompanied by the Municipal Band and the Polyphonic Choir of the Church of Our Lady under the direction of conductor Theodosi Antoniades. Moreover in Tolo , the procession of the epitaph will be accompanied by boats, fireworks and fireworks on the beach .


April 19, 2014 : Holy Saturday

07.00 Divine Liturgy .
11.00 The "First Resurrection". The Municipal Band melodies stoys streets of the old city under the direction of Theodosi Antoniades.
17.30 - 19.00 Free tour of the city by a qualified guide. Starting point in Kapodistrias Square .
23.00 The Resurrection Sequence - Believers , holding candles and white candles , hugging and giving a kiss of love.
At home the following table of the Resurrection with the traditional soup and the clinking of red eggs - which mark the end of fasting.
Tolo, like every year, will split after the end of the sequence pretzels and red eggs.

Did you know that?
The Volunteer Group of the Municipality of Nafplion will welcome visitors to the Town Square and Philellinon Kapodistrias Square every day from Saturday of Lazarus until Easter Tuesday.
