Trianon Theater - "The Marriage of Karahmeti", February 13th 2018

The Theater Company "In Action" (En Drasi) presents the theatrical performance "The Marriage of Karahmeti", directed by Olia Lazaridou, at Trianon Theater in Nafplion (Syntagma Square) on Tuesday, February 13th 2018. This is a theatrical adaptation of the significant homonymous short story of Alex. Papadiamantis and is coming up under the valuable direction of Olia Lazarides.

Story summary
The story of Papadiamantis’ short story takes place in Skiathos island during the Ottoman domination. Mr Koumbis, one of the village's notables and friend of the Turkish admiral, after fifteen years of sterile marriage to Seraino, is burnt by the desire to have children. His plan is to kidnap his neighbor, Leloudo, who is only thirty years old, and to bribe a priest or blackmail him with horror so that he performs the marriage.
The end of the story highlights the personality of Seraino, his wife, into a Holy soul and puts her forth as a comforting testimony regarding the possibility of purification of our profane world ...
